Are your personal alarms effective?
All the personal alarms we sell have been tested by "Sold Secure" and all have the highest Gold accreditation.
An exert from the "Sold Secure" website:
"Sold Secure is dedicated to reducing the risk of crime by the assessment of security products. Established in 1992 by Northumbria and Essex Police with the help and backing of the Home Office. Sold Secure is now administered by the Master Locksmiths Association (a not for profit trade association) and works from purpose built laboratories just outside Daventry." Should I expect people to come to my resuce if activated?
This will depend on the circumstances, although a personal alarm should never be considered something that would protect you from foolish behaviour such as walking in deserted dangerous unlit areas or places it's recommended not to visit alone or at night.
The personal alarms sold on this website are all at least 130dB in volume (louder than most house and car alarms which are typically around 115-120dB). It's an ear-piercing, high pitched, unpleasant sound. In a difficult situation you would hope to distract someone enough that you can run away/escape or cause them to do the same. You might also attract attention from people in the vicinity.
What are the delivery costs?
Postage to the USA & Canada (& other international destinations) starts at approx $3.49 (depends on exchange rate, actual is converted from £1.99). The cost of international delivery is based on the weight of the package but for most destinations you will be able to order 1 alarm for this price and 2 alarms for a small additional postage charge. Please see our full delivery policy.
